Hi, I’m J. W. Hutchinson.

I’m a parent, author and educator and I live in Southern California with my family.

I love visiting schools and libraries to connect with kids and talk about writing and drawing books. I believe that every child is a genius!

I believe all children show up here on earth with the same infinite potential and we as caregivers must tune-in to our child’s unique gifts and help them to express it.

When we remind our children how amazing they truly are, it becomes easier for them to recognize and express their inner greatness.

I’ve always found creative inspiration in nature.

When a feisty hummingbird showed up at the feeder in my backyard, I was inspired to write the Napoleon Hummingbird book series! The stories gently teach children values and virtues in a fun and creative way.

It is my sincere wish that the stories inspire you, as I was inspired to write and illustrate them!
